Like the title says has anyone used sae pcm amplifiers @ 2ohm or even 2.6ohm? Did it like it? I'm powering 4 v18 1000's off of a pcm20 at the moment and it never goes near the clip .Upgrading to 6 in the next month and then 8 next winter. When i go to 8 i was thinking of powering 8 hd15's from the pcm if possible & getting a k20 or similar for bass.

pcm18s went thermal after a while when we tried 3 BR cabs pCH, dont know if pcm20 copes better..
Instead of "putting all eggs in one basket" i would go for 2 amps as its much more versatile and safe (not that k20 are known to blow up) + gives more bass array options depending on dsp channels.

What he said..

Cheap way to run 8x HD15s, would be 2x used SAE PXM1450.

EDIT:If PCM 20 gives all you need in terms of Sub over 4x cabs, another PCM 20 for driving next 4x subs, surely must be considered.

What subs do you have/music genre do you play?

I have 4 hogs & it's mostly jungle/dnb/dubstep/grime/reggae that it gets used for.I'm happy with the performance of the pcm so will probably just get another one.I have a Pxm850 i use on mids and compression that I'm happy with aswell.I'm using an old crest 8001 on the hd's and my dsp is a dbmark xca28.
