Hi all,

I am in the process of building a 4 scoop stack for playing heavyweight dub.  I have decided on the scoops and kick bins and now have to make a decision on the mid/tops.

My question is from all of you listening experience would you go for the MT 122 or th MT 121.

Cheers!

P.s cost or size isn't an issue - just want the best sound possible.

Go MT121s if you're running 4 scoops. Single 12" section is plenty loud enough with a decent driver

So you wouldn't want to go for extra loudness with the others?

how many a side / per stack are you thinking? and what high horns have you picked? the dispersion of the high horn will sort of dictate how many you can put a side.

and what are your kick bins you've chosen, out of curiosity?

I'm going to be having a 4scoop stack only so no 2nd stack at this point. I was thinking to have two MT's combined with two HD215 for my kicks and the 4 scoops. I haven't picked the horns yet, I'll make that decision once I choose a cab for the MT's.

The MT121 is roughly a 60 degree coverage box although I don't think I've seen any plots for the coverage of the 12" horn, the Hf horn is your choice.

You'll probably want 3 boxes to give you the width of coverage for wider rooms.

Just curious I thought the wooden 12" horn part of the MT-121 is 40 X 20 degree so I can match it with a JBL 2386 loaded with a JBL 2450 neo 2" CD? I was thinking 4 a side with a Cubo Kick 15 under, don't know what subs yet maybe Emeralds single 18"  half of the Famed Bertha sub.
I also was thinking JBL bullets attached top horn lip of the 121?
Any ideas these will be used for out doors mainly or large auditorium dance gigs.

Thanks!

BASS, how low can you go!

Cubo Kick 15 is FLH or more like the lines of Marc O. MKH230? Thanks

Nah ah, mt121 is definitely not 40x20 across its usable bandwidth, way too small for that
