Hey so i'm wondering does anyone have any thoughts on flared 12" mid boxes vs. 10" mid vs. 12" sealed

Currently i'm running 4 super scoops, 4 HD15s and 2 double 12" sealed boxes for my mid but we're totally not happy with the sound of the mids. I think the design i used was an old fane design but not sure.

Anyway,

What do people think about single 12" flare boxes? and have 4 of them.

Currently they are loaded with Emeience Delta's which aren't great but cheap and got us up and running.

Reference 12" Flare:

If anyone has any design plans for 12" would very much appreciate it to have a looksee :)

The Horn-Loaded Twelve Cabinet is very popular for midrange. However, the loudspeaker you place in such a cabinet must be able to deliver a good amount of mid - high mid frequencies in order to reap the benefits of such a design.

@Elliott Thompson: Do you have any examples of this box? or do you just mean any horn loaded 12 box?

@Dub Specialist Sound: that is my thoughts exactly, but wondering also would i benefit more from having 4 individual boxes?

Any shout on some decent drivers for mid range too?

first pic looks like the eminence plan from the eminence book. google the book and i'm sure you'll find it. the 15s under the 12s look like a plan from that book too.

i have a pair of mt121s i haven't used in ages, we could have a play with them sometime. i think i have a thread on them here somewhere.

Yup,the 12's look like the Eminence type, the 15's under are Altec 816 copies, plans for both are readily available online if you search.

A good all-round 12' mid driver is B&C 12pe32,you should be able to pick them up around £130 each.
Be seeing you.
