First post here, excuse my lack of knowledge.
we are considering building the hugo scoop (4 of it for a start), a scoop that the seems to be very seldomly discussed and built. any reason for it? as a driver we are looking at oberton nxb1601 or maybe tmax 1500... first hornresp simulation shows that the hugo (with b&c 18nw100) produces ~+1db in the relevant frequencies compared to a standard Mogale Super Scooper (with pd1850). any input gladly appreciated. |

No input on the audio side of things but build wise I would brace behind the 4 piece reflector and add extra bracing to the baffle behind driver.

Thanks for the input CNC, more bracing was the plan.
Would love to hear about experiences how it sounds. @DJ: thanks for posting the plans to visualize it instantly for everyone! |

Would suggest not many people build it for good reason.
Do your research, and build something that works. |

Thanks Lev, was hoping someone like you would chip in to this thread.
Would you mind elaborating on what are the design faults of the hugo? with the Polarbear scoop plans being retired by the designer, same as mykeys designs, not many free plans available other than supers. or am i not seeing something? Edited by Timekeeper - 29 April 2017 at 2:40pm |

Think Hugo Scoop is more of proposed concept, than proven hi performance Scoop. Sir Mykey provided this Gem for free, which can be modified to suit most drivers. http://forum.speakerplans.com/fane-scaled-up_topic74640.html Double baffle version, with extra bracing, well worth building. interesting one Lev, thanks! hadn´t spotted the modded Fane scoop yet.
seems a good allrounder, not a spl monster. fine by me, prefer a musical scoop to a hooligan scoop. Edited by Timekeeper - 01 May 2017 at 4:38pm |

If you can build yourself, why not have a good read and attempt to design your own? With the info available on here its really not that hard at all

hmm we have thought about that, but the only thing we can do is rely on hornresp and the lose information on here. and from what i´ve read, esp. when designing scoops, hornresp is not very reliable. we have however modified a gsub for the kick section to work well with neodymium drivers. designing scoops seems too much of a challenge at the moment.
haven´t received a PM, or am i too stupid to find it? is this function available for new members? Edited by Timekeeper - 02 May 2017 at 10:05am |

Yes... you need 10 posts (I think) to activate your PM's. |
