The 15hz hp was something Tony wanted to eliminate sub harmonic distortion and maybe vent the speaker better? The FLH construction keeps excursion under control so that isn't a problem.
For example the TSW-718 is only rated for 800 watts RMS, but uses 600 watt drivers. This conservative rating is because of the very low HP in the factory presets and at the time amps couldn't give much more power anyway.
Today you can fry TSW-718 easily if you HP them at 15hz and that's why they eat a Powersoft K6, MC2 E45 or LAB FP6400 all night when they are HP at 30-35hz. |

With a Lab 6400 you have 100Hz hi-pass built in, couldn't drive a 718 let alone a pair of 21s if their live depended on it...
There is also an issue with excessive X-max in those box, 1 trashing drivers and 2 sounding completely crap, with 30Hz HP you can bin a PL 9.0 into them all night and they love it. Truth is once we went to Omnidrive I have push HPF up as hi as 55Hz on big systems and got better result than 30Hz especially for bands with 5way running... All a bit tricky as the loading of the stack into the space has a huge effect on this..

If you limit the box to 800watt RMS/1600 watt peak there is no problems with excessive X-max even with 15hz HP.

Agree, but a PL9?
I would think that it would fry the driver easily driven to just before clip, 30hz or not.

A PL 9.0 is about right for 6 x 21s, tickles them along beautifully, but bear in mind I also run a pair of them of a Bridged SR 707 which drop more power per driver than a PL 9.0 into 2.6r....

Methinks that what you really need are 4 tsw721 or 780l flog the old drivers purchase 4 new 21" neo drivers put them in backwards adjust the volume of the rear chamber accordingly and bobs your uncle..
