I'm not going to be making any but I'd be interested to know - do you ever experience issues after long term use due to uneven loading of the cone?

I've not heard of any issues like that. Haven't heard of any burned up drivers yet either. Anything is possible but I wouldn't worry about cone issues. That does not seem to be a problem at least with the B&C's.
