   WAY TO RAS 2012
ITALIAN REAGGE SOUND SYSTEM MEETING
A CALL FOR THE NATIONAL 2012 EDITION

RAS
 - Real Authentic Sounds! This was the name of the many national sound 
system meetings that has been organized in Italy from the late 90's till
 the early 2000's. And from the same definition we would like to 
restart, giving continuity to concepts like self-construction/determination, grassroots participation, self-managemet of time and music which represent us.

Real!
 Cause we do exist, we do believe, cause we love to make dreams come 
true, cause our diversified reality is getting stronger, cause we bring 
people together in freedom of expression.

Authentic! Cause we 
ain't part of the leading mass-standardization which is threating the 
freedom of thought, cause even if all parts of one main "thing" each one
 still feels to be original and authentic, cause each crew does boost 
its own voice through its sound in a unique style.

Sound! Cause 
we express ourselves through muzic and by our custom equipment, 
self-built with keenness to provide an enhancement of that magic low 
freq, we begin to build a common path of sociality and culture.

The
 entire day of July the 9th will take place inside the DINAMO FEST and 
is the result of the meeting of the original RAS organizer, who wants to
 enlight that:

1 - Due to the size limit of the venue&budget, it is impossibile to invite ALL the italian sounds;

2
 - The 12 sounds choice that will express themselves with their systems 
(4 yards by 3 sounds each) was done by mixing, geographically and by 
them music style, the veterans from the new ones;

3 - Every sound is free to invite other crews on their sets;

 - the yards will be mixed regarding the type of reggae played: no style
 division, cause it would be againsts the natural aim of unity of the 
RAS. The sounds will receive a symbolic refund.

5 - The choice 
not to call it RAS 2011 was done to demonstrate that, even though the 
first steps were in that direction, there was no time, budget and place 
to held it properly in this edition as the RAS was a time. It could not 
be called RAS as a lot of sounds of the same value of the one presents 
wouldnt be in there.

We believe and hope that this will be the 
first step in the organization of the national RAS 2012: still, one of 
the major RAS values is to give the chance to ALL sounds to express 
themselves and actively contribute to the creation of what is the one 
and only european meeting of sound systems of this proportion.
