I'm in the middle of refurbing an old soundcraft venue 2 and also an old soundcraft sm12.
I keep getting an issue of group and aux outputs coming in and out when I've got a large patch running. Tried the traditional burnishing tool wiggle which normally aids these issues to no avail and have also ensured that all loom and ribbon wiring inside is correct so just a bit stumped today. Circuitry inside the board is all metering as should be under stress tests too.

Any ideas?

Check solder joints around the channel aux send and  aux master level pots..
Also check solder joints around ribbon cable connectors
Also check if the channel and master section insert jacks need a cleaning ( use a dummy insert jack with ring and sleeve shorted to see if the channel starts passing signal )

Also.. Group assign switches - check solder joints and try some good switch cleaner ( caig deoxit works miracles on this )

Bad pots and bad solderjoints are fairly easy to discover using the handle end of a large screwdriver to give the suspect areas of the desk a good whack

On the larger desks, the IDC connectors for the ribbons carry alot of cumulative current on the power conductors that can lead to internal overheating and burning of the conductors though it isnt always obvious at first glance. This is worth checking for if you have faults like that
