Just put the last screw in my new grills.  I was seriously surprised at how good these sound, it wasn't exactly a budget built, but at the same time I didn't want to break the bank so I was very happy with the compromise in the end.  2x delta pro12a + JBL 2432H compression drivers.  3/4" birch ply with 65 liter net interior volume ported to 65 hertz.

I still have a couple things to touch up, but I figure that'll always be the case, so I might as well put up some pics.  I wish it was as clean as you pros, but I'm pretty happy with it.

My work table is too small for a full piece of ply, so I had to rough cut it with a hand saw and then take it to the table to clean it up.

Dry fitting everything

Making a jig for the handles:

I was happy with my angles! lol

great choice of parts, going active? if not..how do you plan to deal with the four ohm rating of the two 12s together?

I really like angled baffles, for looks if nothing else... what frequency are you crossing at? Have you measured it to see if there's a blip in response from the angled mounting?

I did design it, but since there really isn't much creative on my part, its hard to take too much credit.  Its all been done before.  I do like it though!Tongue

I'm not really sure what you mean about the 4ohm load,  they are bi-amped with the two 12's wired together and then connected to the NL4 and then to a channel of the amp at a 4 ohm load.

I haven't done any testing yet, but for now I have it crossed at 1200.

i was asking if you used a passive xover in the cabinet and if so how did you cope with the four ohm load of the two 12s.  most passive networks dont like four ohm loads, but your way is better..just wondered as it'd be nice to find a good high power passive filter for a cab like that so one amp could drive both..just something i've been pondering lately.

Pretty tidy! It's a world of difference up in quality from the first cabs I ever built, brace is a nice touch.

Did you get your patch bay issues sorted out?

Yes, the patch panel was a mess like everyone said.  I took the advice and just desoldered everything and went back and redid it.  I also disconnected the sleeve ground, and It works fine now, so that or a stray strand from somewhere was causing the problem.

Nice build there.

Maybe I can make a trip down there and hear them sometime.
