Hi everyone,
I have no idea what to do here and don't want to end up spending loads of cash on something that will reduce the performance so I thought I'd ask those in the know!..................

I have 2x second hand Mackie sa1530z ( http://www.google.co.uk/?sa=t&rct=j&q=&e=s&source=web&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CCYQFjAB&=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mackie.com%2Fproducts%2Fsa1530z%2Fpdf%2FSA1530z_OM.pdf&ei=rF3NU6fWO6qg7AafqoHIBA&usg=AFQjCNE0WSRX4XEbB7dImVWTHesz9OCxZg&bvm=bv.71198958,d.ZGU - http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CCYQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mackie.com%2Fproducts%2Fsa1530z%2Fpdf%2FSA1530z_OM.pdf&ei=rF3NU6fWO6qg7AafqoHIBA&usg=AFQjCNE0WSRX4XEbB7dImVWTHesz9OCxZg&bvm=bv.71198958,d.ZGU)

I'm getting a lot of distortion (notice the paper cone really moving around the edges) and some buzzing/rattle (Seems to come out from the bottom ports) at relatively high volumes and bass heavy material on the bottom 15" that I just don't think should be there. Dust cap push test ok (although I do feel the resistance for the last few mm at the bottom (don't know if this is normal or whether it should just hit a complete stop)), so too is tightening of loose screws etc.

I'm considering replacement drivers/getting ready for them being replaced but don't really know what I should be looking at in terms of the best for the cabinet/amplifier. Mackie states that the LF amp is 1100w RMS. The most expensive driver I've seen so far is the RCF LF15N401 but that's only 900w AES 'power handling capacity.'

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

You might be asking too much of the driver. There wasn't that much thump from these cabs. You'd be better off adding a pair of dedicated subs to the system.
Chas n Dave : it's like Drum and Bass but with beards.             E=mc² ±3dB

That would be a mistake IMO, you can't just throw another driver in a box and expect it to produce better result, it's a complete crap shoot. This box was designed before modern music got into these heavy bass drops so it's entirely likely you are bottoming the woofer, and if that is the case the solution is to add a good sub(or 2) and highpass these Mackies at 70-80hz.
