what is a good system for speach / singing for approx 50ppl

this will not be hired out, it will be only be lent to family/friends

the system will be left unattended

i would like something compact as at the moment i have to bring a flightcase, speaker, leads

is there any good active speakers that have a compresor/mic stage built in

with active cooling as system may be left on/used for 48hrs

There are good powered speakers about, and you will find them with the AV guys who do Conference/Corporate stuff. Having a plastic speaker on a stick may not be the answer.

I'm, gonna say it. Mackie 450... but the Mk I's. They've got the "no signal for a few minutes, then I'll turn off" function in them. They do come back on really quickly when the signal comes back though. IIRC, it's about 20 minutes.
