We have tried the Faital 3fe22 and its quite similar sounding to the monacor I think. both are quite bright and efficient.

Not Aurasound NS6 as used in the Boominator MINI dev version by any chance?

Argh :D It's not a paper cone either? I was so convinced I'd worked it out as well. I can say at least that there are many more small format high efficiency quality drivers out there than people commonly talk about though.

You say a paper cone wouldn't last long, is a waterproof treatment not sufficient for a long life then? Or is it just that the Minirig in particular spends much of it's life facing skywards so has an extra vulnerability?

I'd definitely like a few (say, 4) SPH-30x for £10 each. Just let me know where to send the money :)
