Don´t know if this enclosure was anytime discussed in this forum. I built 4 of them and was really happy with the output and punch they had.
The lower limit of 43Hz is also a nice thing. Mine are playing with Oberton 15B450 Speaker - the B&C15PL40 should also be a good choice. So i think this plan should be shared...... http://www.egbeck.de/15bhorn0.htm - http://www.egbeck.de/15bhorn0.htm Have fun - Gerald Edited by soundvision - 06 August 2015 at 9:02am |

If it does play the suggested 50-500 you have one hell of a good box there!
Looks like a mod of the old fane cook-book design. Can you get a few pictures up of YOUR boxes... did you take any building pictures too? |

"big box for a single 15."
Those boxes are tiny!
They are 1/4 of an RCA Olson bin, a dual 15 box that was intended to be used in pairs (80" x 80").
One doesn't do much.
A couple per side can make some noise!
This is what the ones I got from an old theater loked like, they have big plywood wings to extend the baffle.
I changed the drivers out for modern ones and they thumped real well on a BGW750. The tar-filled multi-cell on top was too heavy to carry, even with the drivers removed! Edited by _djk_ - 10 August 2015 at 4:30am |

1/4 of the olson bin? If that's 80"x40" for single then double "California" horns would be just about the same size @ 80"x29".
That looks more like 3/4 of an olson bin to me which makes them about the same size, no doubt they are good sounding but these boxes must be very uncomfortable to carry around. |

why not arange those bins so they LOOK like the big RCA jobbie... would prob measure close to 80"x80" anyway... you may even get a few dB out of them by coupling them this way too!! ...you never know, worth a punt though! |
