care to share facts your opinion is based on?
its of course a shame to cut such a epic cab but technically theres nothing wrong doing so imo. if youre anal about it you could use a partial panel like danley bc218, doubt it would make much of a difference though.. specially if used on kick only.. |

I'd be very surprised if the open "shared mouth" makes any difference. It would be easy to find out. All you need to do is use a piece of ply and half a dozen screws to temporarily extend the small central dividing panel, between the driver throats, to the front of the box. Then compare the modified bin with a standard one. You can do this with any suitable measurement system (SMAART or whatever), with them side-by-side preferably in an open space such as a field or car park. Plus of course a set of ears and your favourite music after adding mids and tops to make full range stacks. A further listen, to pink noise, will make any differences really stand out - much more than music does. But as Robbo says, there's really little point. The F2B is complicated to build and if you need something half the size and weight, then your application is going to be better met by making one of the existing, proven designs that many SP members use.
