For home hifi I would investigate transmission line and tapped horn designs if you want the bass response of a full scoop. Just my opinion of course.

The back loaded horn are speaker boxes that atract me.
For home i shall look for other design Now this box might use for high bass on small p.a. |

Backloaded horns aren't the best for upper bass because of the huge dip where the direct radiating driver and the horn part are 180 degrees out of phase. So to overcome this you will have to cross above or below this frequency.
That's why most people use upper bass cabinets over scoops. |

With a measurement mic,external soundcard, a program like REW or ARTA.
You could also simulate your cabinet + driver in Hornresp and see the response there if you have no measurement equipment.(would have been smart to do before starting construction anyways) But measuring is the best way forward now. |
