Hi.
I have a Mackie D.2 pro mixer which until now have not had a problem with as i have only used it for private parties with DJs who know what they are doing. However we used it for the Freekuency Festival last weekend and discovered that anything over half way on the master level gave such a huge output that i was getting a clipped signal to my DBX driverack even with the DBXs gain down to - 20. Running the bar also meant that i could not stand over the DJs with a big stick all weekend and many times went to check the rig to find the master up to max and eventually blew up four 1850s. The question is, is it possible to reduce the output? I'm thinking replacing the master potentiometer with one of a different value or fitting a second potentiometer hidden on the back or inside. Or maybe there is a switch or adjustment that can be set inside the unit? |

It's not how big it is, it's what you do with it!
