Hi, I have seen some plans online which require wadding.
If i'm building some mid tops (double 8" fane sov 225, bms 4524) would I add wadding? how do you factor it in to the port tuning?

When would you add it, and when not to?
Thanks for input as always

Someone correct me if wrong...

Sealed box all walls wadded.
Ported box opposing walls wadded.

Try a ported box with and without wadding to see which you like best as some prefer with and some prefer without, depending on the type of cab.

Wadding is not factored into cab volume and should not have an effect on cab volume if done right.

Wadding should be at least 600GSM or more dense for best acoustic performance.

Wadding can sometimes be best in the middle of the cabinet.

Some have tried beanbag balls within a cab with success LOL

The difference lining cab walls will make on a well designed cabinet is minimal but in all cases lining will reduce SPL so it may or may not be desirable.
