Been looking at newer 2" compression drivers on the market and wondering about peoples opinions.
Various boxes i run have beyma 850nd, cp800ti and cp380 in. I find these very musical but the high end does roll off on the 2" quite alot. Any comparisons/results/opinions on replacement ideas from companies like BMS and 18sound? Thanks

jup, will be there, 8 subs, 4 or 8 kicks, 4 mids and 4 highs.
Not to derail the topic too much, as far as 2'' drivers go, i would definitely vouch for the BMS coaxials. I have the ferrite version. Would love to have the Neodymium version. Looking back, i should have splashed a bit more to get Neo instead of ferrite. Edited by Teunos - 25 May 2016 at 8:43pm |

Depending on how low you need to go, some of the modern 2.5" VC, 1.4" exit drivers can be a good alternative and go a bit higher than a 2". Also depends on the horn flare too, some will behave better at high frequencies.
You can usually EQ most decent 2" drivers to give reasonable extension but they'll never quite match a 1" for sound just due to the moving mass and higher air volumes.

RCF HF950 and 18Sound XT1464 have been used by Peter Morris in his Ultimate DIY Mid High, think they're both 1.4 versions IIRC. Lots of solid info on them in the DIY section at soundforums.net. HTH, David.
