Contrary to advise I did make my DIY splits, but I did use 2.5mm I cut back the outer diameter by about 12cm on each and used adhesive heatshrink to join the 2 cables together and then also had a single round diameter that did fit the connector cable gland and strain relief (pretty tightly too!) I twisted the cores together and they did fit into the connector, however as Matt suggested above some bootlace ferules would be perfect. I went this route as I'm on a budget and the price of 10 3 way splitters and more 16a cable well exceeds the amount I currently want to spend. (though this is a temporary solution and I will eventually do everything properly ) |
