A friend has a genny, a generic petrol 3KW one. It's switchable between 110 & 220.
Unfortunately a "mate" borrowed it, the changeover switch failed and he had a go at repairing it. I've now got it to look at and am trying to work out the wiring, (yes I know I should've taken a picture!). There's two blue and two red cable coming from the windings (coming up in separate sleeving), and two black wires (which go to a capacitor of some description) and a yellow wire (which all come up in another sleeving). I've worked out how the "mate" had wired the new switch and obviously he has no idea what he was doing!!! So.... has anyone got a wiring diagram for one of these? I can work out that for 110V it's the two windings in parallel and for 220V it's the two windings in series. Or am I thinking wrongly? |
