Got a 3PH 6x output Distro (2x 16A output breakers per leg), with meters, in dedicated flight case, I'm considering for hire outs.
Case currently has rear panel with 6x 20A output powercons, but I prefer idea of 6x 16A Ceeform outputs, for versatility. Opinions? Edited by levyte357- - 22 November 2016 at 4:54pm |

How big is it? 6x Powercon takes up a LOT less space than 6x CEE. Can you not just have some Powercon to CEE fly leads for non-personal use?

Unit is 3U, but in a 4U case. Case has plenty of extra depth, and rear panel is approx 10cm from rear of case. So plenty of room for 6x 16A Ceeform panel. Trying to remove as many "adaptor fly leads as possible from lockup, and just seems more people are still using ceeform 16As, as opposed to Powercons, on distros. |

Why not go with 3x 16A CEE and 3x or more Powercon, if they'll all fit? That's versatile. We have 32A 3ph units with some CEE and a bank of Powercon, use the big ones for sub amps, the rest for everything else. Keeps it tidy on a 3U unit.

Possible solution, but prefer to use same type of connectors throught out, 6x breakered outputs => 6x connectors. Probably gonna go with 16A ceeforms, but I know the breakers on distro will allow 19A transients, wondered if 16A Ceeforms with 4mm cable, would be OK with that. |

If you want to rent it out then 20A powercon is not an option as they can't break/make load, and people will live plug them.
If you go TruCon you could have 6x16A and 6x 16A TruCon, TruCon is the by far better connector becuase it joins end to end but is only 16A not 20A as it can make/break load. Personally, I would go 6x16A and a 19pin socapex wheich is an awesomely useful distro... |

Seems only 2x of the 12x 16A Ceeform panel outlets I have, match bolt pattern on my Penn Elcom 6x 16A punched panel!!!
2x palazzi. This is becoming a PITA.... Seriously considering, leaving it 6x 20A powercon outs, and sod renting it out!!! Edited by levyte357- - 23 November 2016 at 12:23am |
