I know Joe Red is MIA but I've always been interested in the bass quake.

Not everyone who owns a sound, or engineers a sound, is qualified to operate a full bloodied pre-amp, without getting over excited, and blowing stuff up.

Is better a potential pre-buyer, go to gigs, to hear sounds who play with different pres, to get and idea, of what brand he likes, and what would give what he is looking for.

Also, buying new pre is a minefield, as few builders out there, will have you pay now, receive item years later, or not at all.
