Just made the gate by the hairs of my chini chin chin Ballistic were playing with some serious SPL with 3 Red I boxes the bottles were jumping in the bar, the ceiling was flexing to the point I said to Kevin will the Landlord have them back he said yes Ballistic have played there before. Ballistic sounded as clean as a whistle my only concern was that the Reds blew and this is the 2nd time I've seen Reds go in a week so I felt that they needed an helping hand somewhere in the lower freq or (LMS active settings) or they are going to keep blowing them obviously this is my perception a lay one at that as Ballistic have moved away from 18's above subs and are still shaking up the place with a smaller footprint. Well Trendsetter is a die hard like me with 1850's personally I don't think they are dead yet if anything more of a resurrection compared to how AP sound played them (And 52's)Trendsetter will prob agree his mid high section could have done with a bit more clarity, especially when you have Ballistic as a reference to compare to. All in all like any relationship you have to dwell according to knowledge The TS Params that Roy sent me aren't spectacular overs the 50 Where the Red excels is in the Xmax and SD where its proven to shift more air.It may be worth putting TS Params side by side which I'm sure has already been done but its interesting, but will go some way in box design remember I'm just a lay man in this Ballistic and Trendsetter have years of experience in not only talking but doing that's where it counts.

Blessings to one and all. What a great night. Ballistic have long awaited a meet with trendsetter and visa versa. What a irie session it was from start to finish. Big up Paulus every time. It was good to see dub fi dub back on the road. We are very pleased with the new sound and are looking forward to this week Sunday where we can do some further testing with the new mid high and another sub configuration we have that also needs testing.
Just so there is no confusion on to why the sub blew on Saturday. It was due to my own production not being mastered. I listened back to my music on the program I built it on and I noticed it was peaking, distorting & overdriving on the bass frequencys which is not good at all when your playing it on your sound at hi levels. This is solely the cause of the speakers blowing. Note. Take more time and don't rush when trying to finish a tune to play it out in a dance |

This is solely the cause of the speakers blowing. Totally agree short peaks(Lows) can destroy a speaker as well as continued heat/mechanical stress I think this is so hard to determine on a new hi powered speaker unless you have some meter stuck on the output. like you say its making sure good post production takes place, and getting use to the speaker capabilities. It will be interesting finding out the condition of the coil and whether RMJ will modify the materials used, or leave it as it is. |

Ha ha. Keep up 🙈 I will leave Paulus to answer that one lol. The drivers went on our last tune so had good use out of them that evening. Just a shame I don't have the facilities to master my music YET!!
