We are going to build eight 186 horns loaded with RCF LF18G401's.
The RCF's are 900W RMS and 1800W Program. I was thinking of powering them with two Behringer iNuke NU6000's with two horns (4 Ohm, 1800W RMS) in parallel on each channel output (2x 4 Ohm, 2200W RMS) But now I have found a second hand Behringer iNuke NU12000. This amp could power four horns (2 Ohm, 3600W RMS) per channel output (2x 2 Ohms, 6000W RMS) Now my question is if it is "safer" to use the 2 NU6000's at 4 Ohms, or use the NU12000 at 2 Ohms. Also, are they even 2 Ohm stable? Do I need the extra power the NU12000 can deliver? Is my information even correct? Edited by Futendra - 06 March 2017 at 4:10pm |

What you also should consider is that the NU 12000 seem to need 32A to work properly for maximum performance(which are rare, 16A is much more common). 2x NU6000 would probably be my choice based on only this (have tried neither)

I didn't know this. I am probably going for 2x NU6000. Any clue if you can use them mono if you insert just one input? |

go for 2 nu6000s if NUs are your choice.. any amp can be used running 1Ch only...

I would always pick two amplifiers running at a higher impedance rather than one running at a low impedance irrespective of manufacturer or model. Redundancy.

And how 2x6000 will take more from instalation than 1x12000 on 16A socket?Or is it about cable? |

"Thin" IMHO No balls, and that was running Quakes. Told Yamaha T5 is similarly so, but not heard. Edited by nickyburnell - 06 March 2017 at 10:21pm |

As I've hinted previously, I have four G401's ran by a FP14000 copy feeding them 3600w (170V VPL) and I would definitely not say it sounds "Thin".
Also: still have plenty of headroom on the amps, running @ 4 ohm, so next to no heat is generated even when driving both channels for a full gig. 2 ohm operation would require 32A for sure though. Edited by Darkstar - 06 March 2017 at 11:12pm |

i run 8 x 18G401 BPH of two TSA 4-1300. One bass per channel is perfectly fine! Have also tried them with Lab FP6400 and other "pro" amps and there were no significant differences.
