We use a company called Atlantic International. A couple pallets worth by sea should be 500 quid ish

That's a lot. We shipped a pair of 350kg J1-94 to Holland the other week for £200 plus VAT. Two pallets.

Ireland stuff has a bump because of ferry cost but still seems high.

VAT? Shouldn't the international transport be free of VAT?
At least here it is.
We paid 350 usd for a 400kg non standard size pallet from China.
Last quote we got for a full 20ft container to Australia was 2100 usd.
So should not be expensive.
Buzz those guys i send the link, ask for a quote.
