Hey Friends!
Need a little insight here: Tuning a sound system with 2 VZ's on bass yesterday. Each time either one is powered on a weird sound happens for about 2 seconds. It reminds me of when transformers bolts loosen. Tried the amps without inputs connected and the sound was still there so it's definitely internal to both. Thoughts? |

do you know the transformers are tight so? i tightened up the transformers on a ma2400 a while ago and it got quieter..

No. They have a gig Sunday so advised them to look about it afterwards...

sure it isn't just the soft start? Is it buzzing through the speakers or coming out of the amp? A 5000 does make a rather strange buzz as it powers up. This is normal and sounds like a moped struggling to go up a hill about a mile off. If it's coming out of the speakers however that's a different matter as they should be silent when turned on.

there shouldn't be any noise from the speakers at power up. The output modules have their drive biased off until the soft start has finished and the self-checks are ok.
