Hi all

I am warehouse manager of a pa company and we send kit out all over the world in peli cases.

We have been told by most major parcel companies that we have to put a peli in a cardboard box so it doesnt snag on their conveyor belt or they will surcharge us £7 per item.

Is there any way round this

I would more guess they mean slide than snag (i.e. they use tipping motions alot to auto sort stuff) and pelis tend to do a good job of gripping to whatever surface they're placed on.

I'd get a shrink wrap machine, a layer of plastic around the outside would probably do it

Sold a large (6'x3'x3') road case on wheels a few months back to people in Kent and they had great problems finding a carrier that didn't want it boxed, but they finally found one - presumably after explaining that it WAS on wheels LOL
I gaffa'd over the turnbuckle catches to make sure that they couldn't open or catch on anything and all went smoothly after collection.

Sold it on eBay as collection only.  I don't have stock of pallets at my house Big smile  would have delivered within 20 miles tho.
They bought it and said that they'd arrange collection by courier and then cam e back to me re. the packing.  All sorted in the end.
