Basically, i have a 1000w 2 channel amp, 2x 1000w subs/speakers, 2x 150w speakers and another 2 100w speakers.
When i connect the 4 speakers to channel A and the two subs to channel B, the fuse in the amp blows up. I am wondering where i can go about this and would i need crossovers or anything? |

Details. Need to know exact model numbers to figure out what is going on.
Off the cuff 4 speakers in parallel would equal a 2ohm load assuming 8ohm drivers and if that is the case it would seem your amp isn't 2ohm stable which wouldn't be surprising for anything other than a high quality professional power amp. |

which Amp?
Which Speakers? - crossover to seperate Frequencies for the Subs and "other speakers" (Tops?) helps a lot (without would sound nasty at least anyways :) - 4 speakers per channel might be a bit too much for the Amp (not all Amps accept loads below 4ohm per channel..) |

Yeah thats probley your problem, your maybe driving the amp at 2ohm on one side providing the speakers are 8ohm each,
so your amp probley not built/designed to drive that low, just put/try 2x speakers p/c... crossover nothing to do with it, its only for basically separating frequencies...doest load amplifiers...

i may just use 2 speakers and 2 subs then, unless there is a possible way to use 4 speakers at 4ohm+?

Basically you're asking an awful lot of a fairly small amplifier. In real terms you are probably looking at it providing about 200W RMS per channel. 2 subs and 2 tops off a channel each is still asking a lot of it, although it depends to some extent on what they are and what music you are playing.
If you want to use a 2 sub/2 top setup properly I would recommend adding an active crossover and another amplifier to your setup and doing it properly. |

Something like this will provide a 'real' 500watts per channel. What do you use this amplifier for? Home use or disco's/parties ect?
