Thanks for all of your replies! You've given me a lot to think about.

I'm intrigued by the prospect of a stereo keyboard amp. The KP200s looks fantastic! It has a subwoofer output so I could make myself a nice 18 sub (I really want to make something :D). The problem is I cant find anywhere to buy one! I couldn't even find a price (I suspect it will be painful). Does anyone know of a UK supplier?
With love and many thanks,

Rosie.

I know of someone using the fane handbook 2x12 hornloaded long throw design for his synth... apparently with good results...???

Probably like a bishop bashing his organ... type of sound I was thinking.

I'm a keyboard player and have searched high and low over the years for a decent combo amplieifer.

They are few and far between - Keyboards sound choked through mono amps - stereo is the ONLY way to go.

All mono amps in my opinion sound SHIT -

BUT, there is a company that specialises in keyboard amps - for that budget, you could do worse than to check em out..

I own the KP 200-s and it is by far the best keyboard amp I have ever played through, and I've played through a lot....

1 or 2 15's 10" and a 1" would be my recomendation, specifically if budget will allow...

BMS 15n850v2
Beyma 10MI100
BMS 4552nd

the above seem like they would be quite a nice combination

speak to Tony Wilkes about BMS as he is the UK distributor the prices as i remember it are rather good and the quality of the components is exceptional as is beyma which you can get from bluearan.co.uk having much more than that and it becomes rather impractical.

as to the amps peavy have just brought out a new lightweight budget line which is cheap and looks quite good on a scope for the mid and top and a second hand berry ep2500 can be had for bugger all for the 15's.

if you want cheap amps then the berry ep series are fairly reliable or the cpc pulse amps have been trialed and tested by a large p.a company and are standing the test of time against crown amps (obviously dont sound a sweet but reliability is always important)

if your syth device such as keboard or w.e has a standard jack out put that normaly goes through a p.a then you could just go into a di box and then out in to a p.a or in your case (posibly go into a bass amp or into a standard power amp and set the level via pads on the di box and use say a 15" full range speaker as a bass cab) what do you think guys on here would it work if there's no preamp from a desk etc.. or you could use a small rack mount mixer to ensure that you can always set a level so you dont clip your amp.

So would go from synth/bass into DI-box then into small mixer into amp into fulrange speaker (sounds complicated but could be wired in to a 4unit rack so you would just plug in turn on connect synth and jobs a gooden..

Hope that helps.(would probs be better to get a p.a but its one way of getting round it)

If you want an easy solution you could always buy a Peavey KB300 or something similar, less likely to overpower guitar backline etc. than a massive custom built job.

Otherwise it sounds more like you need a decent pa system rather than huge synth bass backline !

So I'm assuming your synth bass comes from a keyboard player, so what's you're after is a big full-range keyboard amp?

While the design needs updating, you're probably looking at something along the lines of the DM2 on Plans section of the site.  Do you want to make it all in one box?

Amplification-wise you could probably get away with a Behringer Super-X crossover and an EP4000 (or a suitable second hand amp, which we might be able to help with!)  Run the two 15's on one side of the amp and whatever midrange and high frequency components on the other side.
