Yeah, I was just checking that you knew that it needed 24V, I used to cart about 2 batteries but if this power supply works then I should be able to boost 12V to 30V for the amp :)

PS: Any thoughts on the best mid-top arrangement to sit above the 2 x 12" bass?:

 - 8" in horn(ish) and 1" Compression Driver
 - 2 x 8" in Sealed box and 1" Compression driver
 - 2" Compression Driver and 1" Compression Driver or Tweeter

PPS: Perhaps someone could give me an idea of what I am looking for in a good plot, tuning and volume for the bass cab?

dual 6.5 or 8 inch tops in a ported box i think should do you well. tis going to be a large system for 12v whats your budget roughly? you could have a spanking system if you got some really efficient drivers. and thats alot of system to run of one Battery how big is it?

what bassbin design are you going to use?
I do a sideline in ply wood wheels.

do the math. take the spl from the drivers and try different arrangements with the size cab you want using say 1x15", 2X12" or 3x10" taking into consideration the power output of the amp at those loads

by pa horns i meant the mid horns that are used for public announcement. skytronic and monacor make them.

don't use horn subs on their own, you get much better results with more drivers in smaller reflex boxes.

If you are just using the sure 4x100w amp then go for smaller drivers with low power ratins as that amp is only really 40-50w a channel at 4 ohms.

Unfortunately that doesn't really fit too well with the 4 channels on the amp. I have also never built a speaker before so was thinking that a reflex would be a bit easier to start with.

Hmm, ok. I wasnt sure if a ported or sealed box would work best, but I will have a go at some simulations. Just seen your new system too, certainly looks interesting.

Yes this does seem quite large, I think I might be getting slightly ahead of myself so am going to go back and look at the fundamental cost of it all before I actually start anything. My budget is flexible but I would certainly like to keep it down where possible.

As for the battery, I have a 70-80Ah battery I was planning on using.

Been doing some simulations on HornResp and BassBox and seem to have got to some fairly decent results. So will be starting building the bass cab as soon as I can sort out where i'm getting the ply-wood from.

I've also had a play with Sketchup and have managed to produce a rough representation of what I hope to finally make:
