Those two are usually mutually exclusive, e.g one or the other. PD1850/V18-1000 are actually very sensitive compared to Turbomax 1200/1500, but won't handle the same extreme power input. But then, due to their sensitivities, they don't need to. You can get away with Inf7Mk2/VZ5 driving 2x PD1850s/V18-1000 per channel, but would need Inf8Mk2 driving 2x Turbomax 1200/1500 per channel to possibly match it. differences are 1850 fatter bass and a lot warmer sounding, fills the room everywhere,
turbomaxx, not very tuneful above 60hz but can play 45hz at 3kw,some thing i have tried with 1850s and pop goes the weisel,so as i said a lot depends on what music u play and what sound u want,u can see why the steppa sounds like the hard sound of the turbo, but i admit i am very seriously thinking of going back to all 1850!!!!!!

Just to let you know - this isn't a 'PD1850mark2'
It's the driver derived from the 1850 that goes into the Quake - modifications (implemented by Ed Kinsella from EM) that basically optimise it for a long horn such as an MSE-118. Whether it makes a difference for scoops... I wouldn't have a clue.
Whether PD decide to take some of the changes on in a Mark 2 version - who knows?
Mike
