My infinate 8 is up the creek I think!

When I power the amp up the dispaly on the front reads .4 of an amp with no load and both fans start running imidatley however one of the fans doesn't run it just kind of goes to start and then doesn't. can anybody on here help me out???

I've got a big event on the 11th of may so nothing can go wrong!

Some amps will show a current draw on the front because it's powering the fans etc - this was modified in some later versions to show 0 at idle.

As for the fan, sounds like a bearing has gone - send it to Void for a repair.

the fans on those sometimes just twitch a bit till the heatsinks get warmer, they are thermally controlled.

Depending on the room temperature they may start straight away or not as the case may be; dont worry about it unless it doesn't kick in when it's been on a while.

we used to have an infinite 8 where the current draw would go up when the other sound was playing!

(two or more sound systems in turn)

Well yeah, it's going to be actively trying to damp the cone movement in your cabs caused by the other system's bass.
