Anyone have any info on this cab, ideally plans and/or the driver they use please?
There's a few at a venue I work at and from the look of them (what I can see through the grill) they're very similar in design to a HD215 only perhaps a little longer path. |

The path length is quite a bit longer than the HD15, if u go on the martin audio site (http://www.martin-audio.com) and download the F2 technical manual you will find in there a basic cross-section view inside. I think the original drivers might have been RCF from the driver code L1540 (sounds similar to the way rcf code their drivers now - although i could be wrong). |

Cheers gazman. Since I posted that I've found out that they use
ATC drivers. PA75-300 or something like that. The path
length is about 1.2m. Sound VERY nice in a stack of 3 per side
indoors. Done quite a few gigs at that venue since August.

ceharden, jbl_man and i thought that our not quite martin 215 plans might
be for the f2b but it turns out they are not. the f2b is an evolution of our beloved 215 mkIII as we understand it, now the rub. is there any chance that you are likely to be in a position to measure one up? i am going for the three boxes a side stack just as soon as the carpentry is out of the way, i am expecting lush results. james. edit: pm us your email and i'll send you the plans for our 215. @gazman, i have a scanned copy of the f2b brochure but not the technical
manual. the downloads from martin's website are mostly all broken links and sadly this includes the f2b, so how did you get that technical paper? what are you doing that i'm not? james. |

Hi james, just been on www.martin-audio.com , the link is under specifications downloads and then product archiving... should give u a drop down list to select f2 system. What drivers are you planning on using in your copies? |

@gazman, my bad, i was just having an apple macintosh moment. it most
definitely doesn't work in safari but fortunately it does on internet explorer. at the moment the plan is to use mckenzie c15-400lr drivers, but only really because i happen to have 16 of them. i think that there is probably better suited units out there, it'll be worth trying a few before settling on something a bit more meaty to re-equip the boxes with. beyma lx60s will probably be worth a try, but what i'd really like is a neo. i shall report back as and when. james. |
