or...in 2 ohms usage one powerful amp for two cabs...

It needs a radiator to cool air inside chamber... or similar decision like in 12pi cab ...

Try Beyma 12P1000Nd
Approximately weight: 5.4kg x 4 + Wood mass + Radiators mass ~ 22kg + 30kg~
52kg

You'll forget 15"s and 18"s kick cabs with this one cab to support sub-bass cabs...

It needs something like infra-bass below 80Hz...

Hi Amano
Sorry to jump in on this thread, just wondered how the "2x18" meatgrinders v2" testing and plans turned out. anything forthcoming?

nice... i have 215 and 218 cabs that use this layout, they strike me as a really good use of space and are an inherently good way of getting path length without 180 degree bends in the horn.

i really wanted to use the layout in some kind of mid-top enclosure, only 2 x 12"s in a trap box, but then you'd use at least 2 a side anyway so you'd be looking at similar performance. back in the day, ideas looked like this.

your rather excellent design does make me want to consider re-visiting this concept, that said it'd probably be just as sensible to stick mid-high enclosures on top of these boxes, ground stacking requires height on the mid and high; if you were making a flown point source cluster mid-top though... hmm...

james.

mardy hippy.
