More Ikea hacking from me!

Found a nice looking fake bamboo box in ikea which looked perfect for a small enclosure i had in mind for a friend, lined it completely with 6mm MDF (the box itself is 6mm). components are:

2 x Monacor SPH-30X 4 ohm (Purchased for a bargain price from Davey T)
1 x Peerless passive radiator
1 x TA2020
1 x Accusafe battery protection module
1 x 12v 2.3mAh SLA battery

Nice little box, sounds nice - although the Monacor is a bit peaky in the upper mids. The passive radiator has quite a bit more xmax than the main drivers so works well as a single.

And here's a photo of it on top of my other minibox (2 x minirig + minisub)

Thanks chaps - a passive radiator is basically tuned by adding mass, although (and I owe Saturnus for this) a regular speaker with magnet can be used and tuned by shorting the terminals with a resistor, this effectively acts the same as adding mass but can be very precisely tuned - with the benefit of being able to choose virtually any speaker as your passive.

Cracking build great looking, love the passive radiator and the beer. Try sheer drop surrey hills brewery.
I do a sideline in ply wood wheels.
