Topic: Multiple Adds......PLEASE READ. Posted: 14 January 2012 at 9:01am |
|
This morning there was over a dozen different threads by one member on here (who i have warned previously about this a year ago),all for items for sale....some of the items were even similar cases, for gawd sake why cant you put them all in one thread? Putting multiple threads just jams up the board, and isnt fair on other members.
Im not giving any warnings, anyone posting multiple forsale threads will just have them deleted.
Use some common sense Gentlemen, and put your items in one thread.
Thanks.

Slightly off the topic heading......why don't you make it a rule that you have to put the location in the ad, much like having to state a price. Perhaps i'm just an old fart and i have it all wrong, if so delete this. Rob

Well done Ian---I must say it has p-ssed me off lately to see a lot of this happening as it is hard enough to keep an item for sale on the first page for half a day without this going on. Is it possible for Bruce to put something in place making it impossible for multiple listings--something like being limited to one sales post per member per week maximum--this would force people to list all the bits for sale on one post. Totally agree with rob above as well concerning location on sale ads---again would it be possible for Bruce to put something in place so that sales ads cannot be posted without having the sellers location listed as this would save on thousands of futile enquiries and questions every year---Cheers--John.

also is the option there to delete your own add once the item(s) have been sold? Surely this would clean the board up a bit.
last week i went through my posts and deleted the content and just left the post empty.
Agree with have to state location,.

Shame there can't be a template for the For Sale section with the price and location boxes mandatory... but then that's bucket loads of work for Bruce.

If you have a location on you profile then I supose there is no need to put it on the advert unless the items are located somewhere else. If there is no location in the profile then, YES put a location in the add

But it is often useful to search old sales and see how much something is worth, so perhaps a sub-forum of "Completed Sales" or "Sold Items" would be useful...

I can imagine a separate forum of completed sales would create a lot of extra work for jbl_man ;)

Agree with the multiple ad situation, for sale items should be grouped. Also remember this thread?
