How do the single lab's compare with the original lab design?
Those invaders were moving some serious air with the amount of matrix behind them

Design on the single lab 12 has been improved imo in a number of respects, theres a much larger air coupling area than the original labs, allowing use of less drivers/boxes to get a beefy result and 'ideal' coupling. They include a force air cooled heatplate system that transfers heat directly from the drivers pole piece to the 'outside' air, which amoungst other things helps prevent the driver from cooking under prolonged use. also each cab is a far more manageable 65kg ..instead of the lab x2's 100-120kg ! 8 in a linear line are shockingly directional in the horizontal plane, 8 stacked in a manner like the invaders above provides an efficient, yet wider spread dispersal. so overall quite flexable things :)

How do you manage such efficient heatsinking? I have considered doing similar to the psycho's and just using a finned alu plate with a huge surface area not actually attached to the drivers? having the hatches in open air seems much more sensible, Most labs i see have heatsinks for the hatches but are stacked touching one another anyway?! What's the outside dimensions of your version?

The solution on paper to the problem isnt wholly ideal, but in reality it actually works really well :)
consists of a hollowed out aluminum insert that goes into the pole vent on the lab 12 driver, whilst still allowing it to breathe in the rear air volume, this is then thermally coupled to an aluminum panel in the airpath of the horn as it folds round the driver, works astonishingly well. Spanked the cabs flat out all day and night one weekend and then took the access hatch off & measured temp ..barely above room temp ..something like 23-25c if i recall correctly ?

That's pretty impressive! is there any room around the aluminium insert to allow it to still cool in the air in the rear chamber? or does that not matter as much as good contact with the insert for increased conductivity to the heatsink panel?
