This is my first attempt at this kind of work so go easy on me Embarrassed

Thought that this may be useful to anyone unsure about attempting to repair one of these!

Thanks to Shagnasty for parts and advice Thumbs Up

You'll probably find more faulty faders!
Old solder pumped out, not pictured
This bit has to slot in first!

All working fine. 2 units down 1 to go! Smile

Nice job. i had 6 to repair in one go (came out of a PA company hire stock). Took ages to do one & a real pain in the neck to re-fit the metal fixings to hold the PCB to the front panel.

GOOD LUCK. CryCry

Check to make sure it's nothing silly like a blob of solder or splash when you were fitting the sliders etc. If the unit works perfectly, but just the clip light stays on, follow the clip light back to which chip/transistor drives it & change it would be my first port of call. Regards

OK so I've fixed the last unit now. everything went fine...

but when I came to test it I found that the main volume pot would crackle and make a horrible racket when its turn down to its lowest setting. The 'LF Contour' does the same. all the sliders seem to work OK apart from 16khz wich seems to boost like crazy when its up full. and 400 hz in its highest position will also boost a much higher frequency.

Its usable as it is, as I never run the volume that low and never boost a frequency to +16 but it would be nice to have it working 100%

Anyone have any ideas about this? I can't see any problems with the work that I've done. no blobs of solder anywhere etc...

Thanks
