Incidentally, I didn't intend to copy the QSub, someone just asked me if I could design a box the same size as two stuck together.  In the end he decided to buy the real thing but the cabs worked out really well.  The two singles are the prototype cab cut in half!

I went with the 18Sound 18LW1400, would be interesting to do some comparison simulations with the BMS you've used.

BMS do seem to sim really well - ive started looking at some new monitor designs ( 12 + 1" or 2x12"+1.5") and again, the BMS product seems to sim better for roughly equivalent models from other quality manufacturers

but, it is like comparing apples with oranges etc, but they do seem to have their focus on making drivers that work well in smaller enclosures.

On the q sub subject - i would be lying if i said that the q range had been no inspiration at all, but it is a differently loaded and tuned box, of different size as well. there are only so many ways to design a single 18 reflex sub i guess

thinking about a matching infra-sub now.....thats the problem with this time of year, my mind gets bored and starts thinking too much!

Nick these are the ferrite equivalents of your Neo models, almost exactly the same performance. Yours are easier on the arm muscles these are easier on the wallet.

Thats Tony, good to know,   please email me current prices for both neo & ferrite versions...
I am over the moon with the neo 18"s in new double 18" boxes & would really love another x4 but doubt i can afford them at the mo, ferrite might be an option... (I av strong arms, but weak-ish wallet lol)

The reason for going ferrite on this batch was due to me wanting enough weight to avoid them getting blown over in the wind when they are supporting my 210's on poles out in the wind on PA duties, but of course the cost savings are also good...

Pyrotechnics... its not rocket science, well.... actually it is !! :o)
