50 quid is not expensive for a complex horn.

If you build a line-array don't forget the rigging, this is maybe more complex than the wave guide....

Yes it is this, flying frames, certification and all of the other associated things which raise the total cost of building a line array.
it's all just cardboard and magnets really

i think the certification will kill most dreams about a selfmade line array, at least if you dont want to use it only for groundstacking.

im not so sure these complex path correction waveguides sound too good ( turbo flex array would be a good example)

Most of us would not consider bends like that in a mid horn. To me, the best sounding line sources have much simpler path correction waveguides.

I agree. I just don't believe that there wouldn't be any internal reflections or other unwanted phenomena happening.

For example Martin Audio Longbow doesn't have any correction. They use 4 small horns which will have close enough straight wave form in the first place without any tricks.

d&b q 1 has a "punch" in one side of the diffraction slot, simple but seems to work

my arcline 6 has some correction, but has chosen to do the job properly with multiple drivers and much narrower wave guides than seems to be common, so path length differences are very slight, similar in thinking to the longbow.

hey

yeah that horn and the website came up a few weeks ago, was advertised on ebay.

Only slight problem is that it'd be nice if the larger section had a phase plug of some kind.
