Hi all,
i am looking at building up a small/medium system to play old Ska/Rocksteady/Early Reggae, on vinyl. The system will be used indoors for pubs and small venues probably between 100-300 people i have no real experience of building sound sytems as i have always used shop bought PA systems up until now. i am looking at this as a long term project and money is tight. so i am thinking of starting cheap, and second hand, and upgrading as i go. I have very limited knowledge so please bare with me.

so as a starting point i am trying to work out what cabinets i should be looking at building. i am unsure if a 3 or a 4 way system is better for my music genre. From my research so far i have a plan in my head of 2x 18" super scoops for my lows. A 15" dual reflex box for mid bass. i am struggling to find a plan for something for mid/top with this system though. so suggestions for this much appreciated.

Am i on the right lines with these plans, or is it back to the drawing board?

Thanks in advance for any help.

that looks spot on mate.

as i said i am completely new in to this world, so forgive me if i am sounding stupid. i have seen guys using stacks like yours, and they have sounded sweet as a nut. So the old school route is what i should be looking at but i have no idea what i should be searching for to find a plan for somethong similar. Any suggestions for designs?
