This will be my first build of a 12v system.
I'm using a leisure battery to power 3 amplifiers, one for sub, one for mids and one for tops. Not sure how to start wiring this thing up. What can you guys recommend for connecting 3 amplifiers, a crossover and stereo to one battery? Should i make a little fuse box? Also, on the amplifiers there is only one battery connection, the others are remote and ground. How should i connect positive and negative terminals of the battery? Thanks in advance!

67 views and no-ones helped you!!!
I'll just quickly skip over this. GND = Negative Remote = positive feed for switching on eg. you can fit a switch from positive to remote to switch amps on and off Fuses - if the amps are fused there's no need to fuse them again although you could fit a large fuse for the whole system at the battery to protect everything in the event of positive and gnd coming in contact (this shouldn't happen with sensible cable runs) 3 amps and one Battery. In my opinion that sounds like it wont last very long! I would personally use one amp and crossover passively but others on here may think differently. By all means crossing over seperatley will get a much better sound but with one battery you're not gonna get many hours out of it!! Hope this helps |

it might be worth looking at a passive crossover for your mid/high point, instead of using 3 amps you can then use just 2. car amps use a lot of idle current (sometimes more than 1A per amplifier). certainly add a fuse near the (+) battery terminal! maybe put some spade connectors onto the ends of your power wires so you can daisy chain the amps. finally, if your amps have built in high/low pass filters see if you can use them instead of adding an active crossover.
