Hi all,

Came across this forum trying to resolve some problems I have with a Citronic Thames II I bought a couple of weeks back.
I DJ'd as a hobby in the late seventies/early eighties, but found it hard to pursue once I moved away to attend college.
Fast forward 30+ years & I still have a stack of vinyl from way back when. After a quick dabble on Ebay I discovered a lot of Citronic kit going for very little. Back in the day, it was kit I could only dream of owning.
Probably in part to the inevitable 'mid life crisis' I charged in & bought this;

  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251110502704?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_1361 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251110502704?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_1361

Turns out it doesn't power up & probably hasn't for a long time....... Fools & their money!

I am on the lookout for something in better condition, but I have made good progress with this for now.
The power supply was (and still is) dead. I have substituted this for a pc switching power supply which provides the +12 0 -12v required, but the decks wouldn't spin.
I then checked the jumper cable between the main mixer & cuing board & after repairing one broken wire, both decks now spin............ Backwards!
This is where I'm stuck, I have read about the problem on here, but not found out how to resolve it. Anyone help?

Hi there ,

Have a browse through the "golden oldies" section . Lot of topics on older citronic gear and I'm sure you will find some usefull info there .
If not , surely someone here will help as there are several people on here who have citronic equipment .

Try Nigel @ Showtec- calne near chippenham 01249813780
Not sure if he does private works , but he worked for citronic during 70s and 80s and knows everything and probably has spares available

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I found that Citronic thread  few days ago & read right through it. Excellent reading.
I've noticed djeddie has posted schematics up for other forum users on various hosting sites, none of which work any more. Cry
Sadly, being so new I cannot pm him & he doesn't list an email address.

I'll find it and host it and post it again... give me a few hours though.

Edit: It might be easier to post them through your front door!

Apologies for the delay but I had a call-out to deal with on t'other side of town, so didn't go Kingswood way.
Anyway, here's a link to the file. If you can't get it or download it  then I'll pop a copy through your door.

P.S. Anyone downloading it, I have no idea if zippyshare use pop-ups or not...

It's ALIVE!  Clap

Fix was really easy too. The ribbon cable between the auto cue board & the mixer had another corroded joint where the cable pushes into the connecter. Replaced with another piece of cable All the decks spin in both directions & the auto cue works a treat, something I had never seen in action before.

I seem to recall it equates to two pairs of shoes, one handbag and a fancy meal, i.e. NOT a Pot Noodle.
