Im gonna place the upper handles in the rear champer. I will make sure to seal it of proberly, and I have some stuffing to cover the inside of the handles. Ive got metal handles exactly like the ones in the picture, the should easily be strong enough.

I wanna put in a socket for the speakon conventers aswell. http://www.thomann.de/dk/adam_hall_87160_einbauschale.htm
I guess placing em in the bottom near the horn end will be the best?

I think i sorted out a way to the lowerings with my router. I will just have to use guides made in wood which i will screw to the box temperarely while milling.

Thx again. can't wait till the weekend

we will consider dumping the handles for the benefit of the sound... but most likely we will keep them, as they are pretty handy in some situation. We have one venue that we play alot which have some stairs that would be a killer without handles, or at least i think so....

speakons ideally need to go in the driver access door, nice short run to plug em in then. I wouldnt get a recessed one like that, the rear chambers is tuned to a certain air capacity - more you put in there like handles, wadding ('stuffing'), ect more lower the chambers capacity gets - which in turns generally takes the tuning up - taking out some bottom end response which you dont want.

id try and get these and rebate them in: http://www.proaudiostash.co.uk/product/neutrik-connectors/speakon/neutrik-speakon-4-pole-socket-chassis-large-round-flange-nl4mpr/814.shtml

ginge - adding wadding usually lowers the tuning freq. as it tends to "create" a bigger total volume for the speaker!

regarding the handles or recessed speakon plates, 1-2L less volume wont even be noticable at all...

I actually think I have some of the speakon connectors you link laying around. Maybe ill just use them instead.

I guess the handles in the horn doesn't matter at all. Im more worried about the handles in the rear chamber. They will take up around a liter each. I don't know the size of the rear chamber in total with the driver loaded, but it will  proberly take around 5% of the volume. But maybe it won't even be that much cause the chamber is 2x18 mm of ply from the sides.

Im properbly most concered because the handles aren't as damping as wood. Even tough its metal it only around 1mm thick.

We wan't the boxes to reach as close to 41 hz as possible, cause we play live music, and 41hz is the low E on our bass guitar. So everything we can do to drop the tuning we will do.

Will have finished up the boxes now. And they look nice indeed.

How much delay are we supposed to put on the system to be in phase with the horns? I find different answers searching the  web.

I figured out the delay issue by ear. I guess thats good enough for me.
