there has been troubles with trying to design the right type of box for
this sub. but i've come up with a nice BP4 design thats based on a
35/40hz tunning.
type this in for WinISD Pro. Rear chamber - .760cuf front chamber - .568cuf Vents - 14"x.5"x22.5" (x2) the front of the speaker faces into the rear chamber. the front chamber size ALREADY has the displacment volume taken out for the speaker and vents. front chamber measures 16"x14"x8.25", rear chamber measures 15"x14"x6.25". the panel holding the speaker uses two panels of the same size togethere using 3/4" 13ply Birch to help suport the weight of the speaker. outer edges measure 22.5" WIDE 15.5" TALL 18" DEEP. add 1.5db with EQ at 40hz for perfect flat. playable 30hz-85hz. ADF-292 has a RMS of 1,000watt. but you can apply up to 1,100watts of power even at 30hz and be within the Xmax limit. Low cutoff at 25hz, high cutoff at 90-100hz. 116db at half space, 143.2db measured at front dashboard. great for inhouse use, upto about 120-125db. i'll have pictures within the next few weeks. QTS. .426 VAS. 57L FS. 24hz RE. 3.2ohm x2 Xmax. 22.5mm Qms. 4.595 Qes. .469 BL. 16.473 SD .0491m2 cutoffs at 25hz and 90hz gets a playable 31-82hz (-3db) with 1.5db EQ at 40hz (1oct), throw upto 1,300watt and still be within the Xmax limit (at 30hz 1,300watt models 21.5mm). close, but safe.
