for my tops, i run the X15 type cabinets.... a singles 15" and a 1" compression driver... (2" compression driver, 1" throat") personally i think it sounds pretty good... but im wondering if there would be a benefit to adding something like a bullet tweeter... typically i would run 2 double 18s and 3 or 4 X15 type mid-top cabinets...
in decemeber i have an outdoor event were i'll be taking out 4 18" scoops, 2 double 18s and 6 x15s....

A bullet is usually crossed at 5 kHz or higher. If for instance you have a 2" driver (throat) it might get nasty above 8 kHz, in such case a bullet (or multiple bullets considering the narrow dispersion) can be added. Most 1" do not require a bullet because they're pretty good at reaching ~16 kHz themselfs (tho exeptions are made). A good bullet will reach 20 K, higher than the average 1", generally not needed but it can add a little "crispyness" to the sound.
Piezo's are usually used for the same reason as bullets, tho personally I'd prefer using bullets over piezo's. You might cross the bullet to an piezo @ ~20 kHz (silly joke).
