Hi, im fairly new here, believe this is my 2nd topic on the site :)

I have been offered a JBL P1220 on the condition that i build a Cubo 12 to hold the other driver for a friend, so im going to make a matching set of Cubo 12's with the JBL drivers for small 'free party' and bar/pub gigs (these will go with a set of 8" + 1" tops)

My first question is, well.. is this a good idea? ha

Is there anything i should/could change about the cab design to better suit the driver?

Where is it best to crossover/lowpass this sub?

Whats the best way to power 1 of these Cubo's? Best way to power 2?

Heres some info about the driver.. Its a car subwoofer but i dont think this matters, does it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thomas

Just looking at the recommended parameters for the Cubo 12 and the parameters of the driver dont seem to match...

          Recommended           Jbl P1220
Fs       30 - 52hz                  28.65
Qts     0.20 - 0.37                0.45
Vas     50 - 125L                  47.40
Ebp     100+                        63.3

Now i dont know what those number even mean, could someone elaborate and hopefully tell me the affect this will have on the performance of the cab.

Thanks

Thomas

From what I've read the box is fairly forgiving of driver T/S being out of spec, they're so simple you might as well bang a couple together and measure/listen yourself...
