Internal? If so, it's about 340 litres. That doesn't include to port, and doesn't take off anything for the bracing and drivers etc.

Gross internal is 330l. The vent occupies 13.65l, and the bracing + battens 8.8l.
Assuming 7l for each 18" and 4 handles at 1l each, the net internal is about 290l.

I allways question these types of things so if its 290l for both drivers, and the g-sub was desighed around the xb,

fane 200l realeased the Fane Constructor Series’ which is 200l a driver, so over a 100l lost in the g-sub

any more opinions thoughts?

thanks...

According to the plan, suitable drivers (in order) were PD 186 (old parameters), then RCF L18P300 (with shortened vent), then Fane XB, so not sure it was "designed around the xb"...

Anyhoo, all drivers are capable of working in a range of box sizes/tunings, so it's perfectly reasonable to assume the Fane box is towards the upper end of the sensible range of sizes and the G-Sub the lower for this driver, nothing unusual about that.

Just checked the PDF right now and it says  "The Colossus 18XB is designed for use in 100 to 250 litre ported enclosures."  - so both 145l per driver in the G-Sub and 200l per in the old Constructors Series are well within that range.

Of course, if anyone wants to get the best match for their particular usage they should really be learning to optimise a design for themselves - there'll be plenty people who want something that just suits them and can choose an appropriate box size/tuning for themselves with a little effort to learn.

Cheers,
David

I'm simmed the G-sub on winisd for XBs and it didn't go as low as single 200ltr box.

The German manufacturer Seeburg happen to have a model with exactly the same name as Rog's design, though it's completely unrelated acoustically.

Our Moldovan correspondent would like the exact internal layout/plan of this current, commercial product, and is willing to pay for same.

I have attempted to point him in the direction of enlightenment regarding such matters.

Though granted, he's probably operating in a second or even third language, so I probably shouldn't be too snarky..... Ermm

No worries Dub, wasn't suggesting you had any "tone" going on at all. It's more that when I write stuff like that I can come across harsher than I need to, so was giving myself a reality check at the same time.
Cheers,
David.
