Anyone tried the jl audio amps, mainly the HX series 1x160w and 4x50w at 4 ohm. Power output quoted at 12.5v supply and 2 ohm stable for a bit more power?

IP6# rated so ideal for boombox and resonable crossovers built in.

Looking at the hx300 to run 2 Cubo 12 and maybe 4 when i build more.....

Thanks,

You get more power out of the Pioneer GM-D8604 and it dosn't cost alot more.
If you want to go smaller, the Bassface 4.2 should do i realy good job and cost about half of the hx.

ohh, don't know the output at 12v.
But i can say it can play loud at 12v, used it on two Cubo 15 and EV sx200, and now it's powering the sx's and a cubo kick.

Well I picked up a MX300 / 1 (HX seems to be no longer available), nominally 300W at 2ohm. Interesting feature is that its IPX6 rated so ideal for boombox use.

But at 12.5V should do, 1 * 250W at 2 ohm, 1 * 160W at 4 ohm so 80W to each of my Cubo12s.

I have only measured quiescent current so far, 0.69A at 12.8V and less than 0.1A in standby.

I has subsonic and LP filters and remote volume so should be able to integrate it into the rest of my system without too many headaches.

Will publish further info when I measure it....
