no they are alldsp plp226 units, but the void software/firmware on the void site is way old (2014)

i've managed to get the latest firmware flashed to mine, v3.8.22 from feb 2017 ( https://www.alldsp.com/downloads/customers/AllDSP_OEM/3_8_22_114920/Release_Notes_v_3_8_22_114920.pdf" rel="nofollow - https://www.alldsp.com/downloads/customers/AllDSP_OEM/3_8_22_114920/Release_Notes_v_3_8_22_114920.pdf )

also managed to get the newer software to talk to my machine

i was just wondering what firmware others had on theirs and if it was useful to detail how to do it etc

anyone else running digidrive v2 and can let me know their firmware version?

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm quite curious as to how you managed to install the latest firmware and managed to get AllDSP's software to work with your machine.
I also own a plp226 (although it's not a digidrive but a miltec dnp26) and of course the software that's available via miltec is old and the recent AllDSP software does not recognise my unit, so I'm wondering if there's some sort of special procedure to force a firmware update or if I'm stuck in the past !

You can probably do it. Have you got a link to the latest software available? I will doctor it for you to include the firmware update.

Cheers mate that's really nice of you ! the link to my latest available software is:http://www.miltecdistribution.co.uk/downloads  (the v3.4.2, which I believe only runs on win 7 or less), and of course I hope to upgrade to this:  http://https://www.alldsp.com/downloadAllControl.php?vers=3_8_22_115102&dir=AllDSP_OEM/3_8_22_115102&name=DSP_Control_Software.

Can you check and see what firmware is installed on the unit? (You can do it via the front panel, can't remember exactly combo tho)

well apparently mine is 3.4.2

the software there won't install for me, it just rolls back instantly. I had the same issue with the Void software. can you create a zip file for me, of the contents of the program directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Miltec\MT-DNP\" if you can upload it somewhere I can get the info I need to make you an updated copy

Updating different version to OEM unit is very tricky as the software reads the unit code.

However, that rollback issue is likely to be caused by Win8/8.1/10 driver digital signature enforcement. You need to do advanced restart with that feature disabled to get the software installing correctly.

Yes, it reads the device-id from the unit, then its just a need to rebuild the config with the obtained device-id and rename the latest firmware for the device to match. it took me a couple hours to figure it out now i can update to latest firmware and software easily

I had the same problem, it would only install on the latest dev build of wine or on my old win 7 laptop, old stuff :)

here is a link to the zip file (hopefully  I got the sharing permission right) : https://drive.google.com//d/0B7pe58AQE_nlX3g3ZGpkbWR4RTQ/view?usp=sharing - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7pe58AQE_nlX3g3ZGpkbWR4RTQ/view?usp=sharing

Hello,

I have a livedrive v2, which is also an alldsp unit.

Mine is running following versions:

SW: 3.4.2.15011

HW: 4.9.3

Didn't managed to get the device ID, where are you getting it from?

i'll download the alldsp software and to figure how is it checking the hardware.

you can get it from later versions of the software via the about dialog, but first you obviously need to be running the later version - you can find it in the config file installed in the program directory, look for supported_units or similar

I think i found it:

[ROOT]
skin_path = skins
build_number = 105316
about_text = Copyright (C) Void Acoustics
1_1_13 = Digidrive V2
title = Void Network Control Software
ethernet_support = yes
brand = Void
default_skin = 111_0_0
1_1_31 = Livedrive V2
use_master_network_window = yes
child_offset_y = 25
child_offset_x = 0
demo_password = Demo
1_1_2 = 1800B
111_0_0 = Digidrive V2
111_0_1 = Livedrive V2
supported_units = 111_0_0,1_1_13,1_1_2,111_0_1,1_1_31

Maybe i have to add "111_0_1" to the supported units on the new software config? as the "1_1_31" is already listed there.

After i added that id to the config, it detects the livedrive on the main menu, but stays on "connecting..." forever.

Also tried updating, but it says "Erase failed"

ok if both of you that need help install this:

ftp://webdownloads:4AH2a2FA@ftp.monacor.de/DSM-26LAN/DSP_Controlle%20V_3_8_22.zip

It's the Monacor version of the DSP software(which is latest and I found works best)

I'll post up the changes for you both shortly

okay michmich, once you've installed that software I outlined above, download this: https://ufile.io/7gg24" rel="nofollow - https://ufile.io/7gg24

Then extract and merge the contents with c:\program files (x86)\monacor

after that start the DSP controller and you should have latest software and be able to connect. you can then enter admin password (Ad_min from memory) to get access to firmware update menu

check the front panel of the device to confirm firmware update

if this works i'll do the livedrive v2 one for krestudon

Do you still need my full config?

I've just downloaded the monacor software you linked, and i'll test.
I'll have to do in another laptop, as until now i was using macintosh versions.

After having a look at the files you provided to michmich, i did the same on mine, using the 1_1_31 ID as the source, because in the VOID software version, its also called Livedrive V2.

Edited the main.cfg file to add the model, added the directory to skins subdir, and also the .dfi file in dfi folder. But the result is still the same. In the main menu it show my device, with its MAC address, but keeps "connecting..." forever.

Tried with the allDSP OEM software and also with the Monacor one, with the same result.

where did you copy the skin from? if it's from the Void install that may not work as I don't think it contains everything the newer software needs. try looking for the equivalent Monacor model skin?

Posted By: Guests
Date Posted: 30 August 2017 at 8:17am
oh and change default_skin :)

Date Posted: 30 August 2017 at 8:37am
Thanks Freddy,

I think i copied everything (skin and dfi) from the latest OEM software version got from AllDSP. And for sure i forgot changing the default skin line.

I'll try that this afternoon, and return with the result.
Thank you very much!

Tried everything i can, several versions, on mac and win, with the same results.

It always shows as Connecting... on the main window, and i cannot open the one the dedicated one.

I surrender.

What skin folder name did you copy and was it from alldsp OEM or monacor? Try finding the monacor equivalent model and using that skin folder renamed to yours .. I think I had this problem when first trying to figure it all out, the alldsp OEM I could never get working hence I started trying with monacor

Hello,

I'll try to detail all the performed steps.

Checked that the monacor model 32_1_31_0 = DSM-48LAN is what equals the Void Livedrive v2.

Added the following line to main.cfg:

111_0_1 = Livedrive V2

Added 111_0_1 to the supported_units line
Set 111_0_1 at the default_skin line
Set Void at the brand line

Copied the skins/32_1_31_0 folder to skins/111_0_1
Copied 32_1_31_0.dfi file from dfi folder to dfi/111_0_1.dfi

Thats all; hope i missed something you can help me with.
Thank you in advance.

off the top of my head it looks like you have everything there, not sure why its not working for you.

unfortunately i don't have a livedrive v2 to test with :(

Did you know if theres any way to see which identifier the unit identifies itself?

I'll try a traffic capture later today, and see what goes on.

Thank you, Freddy

Posted By: Guests
Date Posted: 11 September 2017 at 9:23am
during my initial checks, i did wireshark the traffic going to and from the unit, but it appears not to be easily decipherable - i would need more units with different device IDs to be able to spot a pattern etc

krestudon, I have managed to fix this problem. I now own a livedrive and had the same problem as you. the trick is to update the firmware first using the void install, then you can use the newer monacor control app.

so copy the matching dfi file from monacor to your void dfi directory, use void controller to log on, find enter password on menu and use Ad_min, then find update firmware, once done, you should be able to connect with monacor app

Posted By: Guests
Date Posted: 21 September 2017 at 7:12pm
Oops you need to rename the firmware file to match as well

Posted By: krestudon
Date Posted: 29 September 2017 at 9:22pm
That worked exactly as you said. Now its updated and it works with all software releases.

Thank you very much!

One more question; i've seen that the void version in Tools menu has a BGM player util, but haven't managed to made it work in any way. Have you used it?

The OEM, or Monacor versions, doesnt have it.

Date Posted: 29 September 2017 at 9:52pm
Never used the bgm thing. Also 0_0_0 DfE file is an interface firmware update...use the newer app to update firmware again and check the about menu, if it says (OK) then you're on the latest
